Just curious if anyone in the crew ever plays Halo:Master Chief Collection online ? I only usually play Halo 3 or variations such as Team Slayer, or big team. All matchmaking and server problems that existed at the start have now almost all been fixed If you ever play this game feel free to add me to xbox (include message with 'Halo' so i know who you are) or arrange some games here

I didn't know you play MCC too. I've been playing mostly campaign, I played online only once. Although I got killed a lot it's really cool.
Will love to play it together sometime. We'll talk soon

Yeah, used to have some really good times on the 360 playing Halo 3. I was totally rubbish at it for ages and didn't even like it at first, but it slowly grew on me. I'm still not great, but i definately enjoy it more than COD for a bit of team deathmatch, it's harder to be killed as well due to the rechargable shield you have, so you can make a hasty retreat around a corner if you're outnumbered and catch your breath again.
the battle rifle is definately my weapon of choice, (or grenade launcher thing if i can get it!) but there are other options such as the laser or sword, and the bubble shield and other pickups that add a tactical edge. Takes a bit of getting into, but since I saw you playing quite a bit of the campaign you should already be familiar with the weapons / pickups. love the plasma grenades, hilarious when you throw one and it randomly sticks to someone!
Final thing i love about it is you can go into theater mode and have all your previous games from that day available, in full, that you can go into, and make videos from, total freedom with the camera - or you can spectate someone else in first person and see how they play. Theater mode is one of the best features i've seen in any game, ever!

Great tips, thanks! I haven't tried Theater mode yet, that sounds amazing.

I've not played a Halo since the third, I tried Reach when it was Free but I just couldn't get on with the controls no matter what configuration I tried.

Reach sucked for online, nobody i know liked it compared to 3! 2 is OK, very similar to 3 but with different maps. Occasionally people vote for 2, but it's almost always halo 3 maps that get chosen in big team / team slayer.
4 is more like COD, with weapon loadouts, and also keeps the special abilities from Reach. I don't like it as much as 3, or 2.
That's my opinion only for online, not single player. As far as i know the single player is good for all the games, but i have only ever completed the first halo and that was years ago. Hopefully the game will drop in price soon, I see it in sales more often now.
As for the controls, yeah they take some getting used to, but since i only now play BF & Halo first person it's not much of a problem anymore. left trigger is grenade throw and right stick uses scopes. LB/RB selects/throws grenades and B is melee, which is a bit different from most games, but there's more options to choose from on MCC. I prefer the halo 3 default as I'm used to it now
