We are 1 week away from Project Cars so I wanted to make a post about it to start to see who is interested in the game. I have it pre-ordered so hopefully I might get it a day early!
If there is enough people we could probably arrange some pretty cool events, few ideas i had: - Karting championship (standard go-karts) - F1 type event with a circuit from each participants home country where possible - Hot laps for GP Circuits which can be done alone, no need to meet up - leaderboards would be kept updated - Endurance type race on le mans or other circuit
A great feature I noticed is that you will be able to set a race for, say, 8PM, and have the practice and qualifying session available all day beforehand, so people can drop in or out at their leisure to set their times.
Hope this game turns out as good as it looks!
Feel free to post if you are getting / will be getting / might be getting it, and see you out there on the track!

Although I pre-ordered it via the US digital store, I found out yesterday that in case I switch my console region to UK, then my release date is changed to May 7th This means I will be playing Project CARS at midnight CEST today

oh damn, that's cool... i got a friend who lives nearby his pre-order has been sent but mine hasn't yet! fingers crossed! inital reviews look good, although some say it's a bit tricky with a pad... don't think it will bother me though.
i think you can create a club in the game so i will leave that to you if it's possible and join when i finally get the game!

I read the reviews too, also this one which criticized the game with a controller. Really liked thereview from IGN this time, covers a lot of ground

Honestly this game is kinda fucked up with a controller, as one of the reviews suggested. I just ordered Lenkrad TM Ferrari 458 Spider, a cheap wheel for Xb1

i played for an hour or so earlier... very difficult! i spent most my time on the grass! i will give it a proper go next time i escape work! was looking and sounding great though! After a long struggle, I finally found the correct settings (on Reddit). They're perfect!!! First set to input mode 2 All deadzones:0 Steering sensitivity:30 Throttle sensitivity:45 Brake sensitivity:30 Clutch sensitivity:45 Speed sensitivity:75 Controller filtering:35 Force feedback:100 Advanced:off Nevertheless I ordered a steering wheel as well, the Thrustmaster Spider wheel (costs about 80 bucks, just for casual gaming, no force feedback)

i tried those exact settings last night for a short time, but a couple of things still seem a bit off for me: The steering and throttle sensitivity still seemed much too high, so i lowered them to around 15 each. i also turned on ABS and traction control. It seemed slightly better but i have still yet to complete a clean lap of any circuit ! Then I discovered on the official forums that there is a bug on the xbox, where 50% applied to the steering on your right stick, registers in game as 100%, or something like that. They say they are working on a patch ASAP for this. Also setting all deadzones to 0 seems to help some people, but i already did that since i matched the settings you posted. I haven't been able to play much these last few days due to work, but i got a few clear days coming up to give it a good go. It does seem as though the slightest movement of right stick or throttle is very aggressive, so if this is the bug i'm sure they will fix it soon. Tomorrow i will play around with the sensitivity again but i think i'm getting closer to how i like it! I have eyed up that Spider wheel myself, but i have spent s**t loads of cash this past month so i will have to hold off for a while. I've never owned a wheel before but i think i will end up buying the Spider eventually EDIT: I just found this post from the official forums - forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?23153-Xbox-One-Controller-Configuration-Guide - it's a brilliant in-depth explanation to all the controller settings, and where you might want your settings to be. Going to use it tomorrow!

After I get my wheel, I will try again playing without any assists whatsoever + manual gears And I will let you know if the Spider wheel is any good

I've played quite a bit of the game now, and am very impressed ! I have the controls set up more or less perfect, the Go-Karts are still very tricky but I came 1st in a couple of car races with 5 people... My favourite car so far is the BMW Z4 GT3, it seems to stick to the road very well.

This game is definitely not meant to be played with a controller. I also played online with a wheel, got my first podium finish online because of it (2nd out of 5 people)

Have you found problems connecting to online games? I use the quick search, but have only ever managed to find 2 games so far! usually it just says searching, and doesn't do anything lol

Yes, it is. I am very happy with it. And it's perfect for Project CARS as you can customize any aspect of it in the controller settings

New DLC cars available - More info here: www.projectcarsgame.com/on-demand.htmlat least 12 new tracks coming in the future I was hoping to set up a leaderboard for hot lapping, but it's a bit hard at the moment as there are no friend leaderboards in the game, I'm sure they will come eventually though!

I got the new DLC, got some cool new rides, it's quite cheap. I also find it fucked up that there's no Friends leaderboard yet, we can't really gather up to play together, at least we should do some hotlapping together

Patch 2.0 should be out very soon, lots of fixes incoming. Also I have been reading the forums quite a bit and there is a track pack coming this week apparently, dont know how many new circuits will be added but i'm looking forward to it. They are also looking into getting the lobby browser on Xbox One (PS4 has it already)
